Marshall launches MA series affordable valve amps

MA50H

UK amp legend Marshall launched a brand new series of amplifiers this past Friday. The MA Series features two heads and two combos, with the option of 50 or 100 watts in each model.

The MA range is something of a first for Marshall – delivering its trademark all-valve tone in an affordable price bracket. The amps are aimed at the aspiring Marshall owner, who until now would have been limited to the solid-state MG range or hybrid AVT Tribute series. The MA models are based around a simple two-channel (with OD boost) design with a trio of ECC83 valves in the pre-amp, and either two (50-watt models) or four (100-watt models) EL34s in the power stage. Prices are as follows:

MA 100H £599

MA 100C £663

MA 50H £480

MA 50C £548

Members of the public were also invited to attend the launch, which featured live sets from TG faves Kids In Glass Houses (who played through the new range), In Case Of Fire and Milton Keynes locals Primal Device.
